Crafting Fun

Now that the wedding planning is over I actually have free time again! (Although I am still finishing up my thank you notes from the wedding) Lately I've been filling my newly rediscovered free time with some of my favorite hobbies: beading, crafting, and DIY. I love it!

One of my projects this week was a recipe "scrapbook" full of all the recipes I from the numerous cooking magazines that were piling up in our home. I hate clutter so these really had to go! There are always several recipes in each magazine that I know I would use if I didn't have to look through an entire stack to find them.

For the beginning of each section I attached the title to an envelope where I can store notes or maybe a few more magazine recipes I find.

I also made this cute little bag. I made it out of a placemat I found while wandering around World Market the other day. I love the pattern, but I have too many placemats already so I had to come up with another use for it! I think it's perfect for a little bag. I used cream 1 1/2 inch grosgrain ribbon to make the straps. Super easy!

Now I need to find my next project!

  2. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the recipe scrapbook idea!! My poor little recipe book has so much stuff jammed in it I can't find anything! I think I just may copy you this weekend. Hope you don't mind :)

Won't be copying you on the bag though. You make is sound so easy...but we know it isn't! You are just too talented!

  3. I also love your recipe scrapbook! I have tons of loose pieces of paper everywhere, stuck in all kinds of cookbooks. Your next project? If you lived closer, I'd say come help me get organized! LOL Be sure to sign up for my blog, if you haven't already, I think you'll love it! :-) Congrats on your nuptials! XOXO
