Do You Impulse Shop?

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Last night hubs and I trekked out to Target for two things - a prescription refill and kitty litter for the Poe Cat. I don't know about y'all, but I can't seem to leave Target without several things I didn't intend on purchasing when I walked in the store.  For some reason hubs never seems to see this coming and looks slightly surprised when I suggest we "wander" after we obtain whatever item we set out for originally.

I bought what I consider to be some particularly good impulse buys last night and so I though I'd share them with you!

This is my favorite Disney movie!!  I have been waiting for them to "release it from the vault" for what feels like forever!  It came out right before my 6th birthday and as soon as I saw it I fell in love!  Did anyone else have the Beauty and the Beast barbie dolls where you could take off the Beast costume and he was all of the sudden the handsome prince?

How cute are these pj pants!  They were so snuggly too, I couldn't pass them up!
{I copied the picture from the Target website and cropped it because I wasn't comfortable posting a picture with this girl's stomach on my blog.  Yes...apparently I am a prude...}

As much as I love fashion, I live in pj pants at home.  Nicholas thinks my ability to change into pj pants practically seconds after stepping into our home could be a super power.  He makes fun of me because while he's still setting down his things and looking through mail I am already coming down the stairs in my pj pants.

Has anyone tried essie good to go?  One of my biggest problems with painting my nails is having to sit still while I wait for them to dry.  I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but I'll let y'all know how well it works when I do!

What a clever idea!  I carry just about everything else I could possibly need around with me in my giant purse...why not an extra pair of shoes!

What are some of your favorite impulse buys?

  1. Great buys! My girlfriends and I joke that you can't ever leave Target without spending about $100! And I loved Beauty and the Beast growing up. It first came out on video around my 6th or 7th birthday and I was so excited to have a sleep-over to watch it! (and I wear PJ pants almost all the time)

  3. I am a huge impluse shopper! I love your buys. Beauty and the Beast is also one of my favorite Disney movies; although my all time favorite is still The Little Mermaid. I haven't tried the Essie Good to Go but I do buy a lot of the Sally Hansen's Inst-Dri. The polish drys in 60 seconds and they have tons of cute colors.

  4. Ooh, I love all of this stuff! Especially the fast flats! I've been wanting to try those. Target is definitely an easy place to pick up some impulse buys.

  5. I love your pink pants! They look so comfortable!
My impulse shoppings are dangerous! I buy really lovely things...just sometimes too expensive. Especially if you don´t need them at all! Usually I buy makeup and clothes. But once I bought a new furnishing for the whole bedroom in 30 minutes without planning before!!!
If I do this again, I think my husband will kill me!

  6. I always tell my boyfriend Target is my happy place. I always look around. And I ALWAYS find stuff I didn't intend to buy and don't need. I usually buy their seasonal socks as an impulse buy. Or candy. Okay, always candy.

  8. Lordy yes, I impulse shop :) And from one impulse shopper to another, you most certainly did find some lovely things!

I also get directly into the comfy pants as soon as I get home. My boyfriends always make fun of me for this :(

I've seen those fast flats before on a blog or something, but didn't realize they carried them at Target. Definitely a must!

  12. I have the same problem whenever I go to Target, actually I must say that my hubby does too. We always seem to find random things we "need".

I absolutely love Beauty and the Beast! I used to watch it all the time when I was little.

Also, I gotta say if that Essie to go works, I definitely need it! I do polish changes all the time and I agree, having to wait for it to dry is a pain.

  13. I am horribly guilty of doing this same thing... especially at Target. I swear that store is a black hole that sucks you in and makes it impossible to come out with only the things you need.

That top coat sounds awesome, definitely let us know if it works because waiting for my nails to dry is the worst. I've also seen commercials for those flats and I'm very curious about them! I feel like they would fall apart?

  14. Great finds! I can never leave Target without at least 2 or 3 things that were not on my original list. That store is dangerous! Can't wait to hear what you think of the Essie to go.

  18. I try to limit my impulse buying to nail polish so that I don't break the bank.

Good haul, lady! I love, love, LOVE the idea of fast-flats!

  19. Oh, how I love Target! I went in there today just to browse & walked out with a new hair dryer! I don't even need a new one, but I just felt the impulse.

...& the fast flats are an amazing idea. I'm going to have to get a pair!

    I love your blog!
