Thanks for all the get well wishes! After a couple of days with my plethora of prescriptions I am already feeling so much better...I am even planning on going for a run later this afternoon! I'm so excited to finally be able to go running again...I'm gearing myself up and celebrating pink and green Thursday with delightfully pink and green workout gear!

Target Trip: Fashion Finds and Pharmacy Cures

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

I know I’ve been complaining about feeling yucky for nearly a week now, so when I woke up this morning and my whole face/head hurt I decided it was time to go to the doctor. Turns out I have a sinus infection...not fun! After a trip to the Target pharmacy with my prescriptions and a couple the doctor told me to purchase here’s what I came home with:

Not the most exciting of Target trips, but I must say their pharmacy is excellent! I’ve had such terrible luck with pharmacies here...the worst of which being CVS. I used to get prescriptions filled at CVS in Florida, but our CVS here in Virginia is terrible! There is always a long wait, nothing is ever ready on time (or even ready several hours after the pickup time), the people are NOT friendly, and just about everything I’ve ever had to do at the pharmacy has been lengthy and difficult! Target’s pharmacy is completely the opposite...everyone is super friendly and easy to work with, and prescriptions are always filled on time!

Since I was already at Target, I thought a little retail therapy might help me feel better too! My pink and green Miss Trish of Capri sandals arrived yesterday (love them) and now I’m thinking these are pretty fabulous too.

They didn’t have my size, so I may just have to order them...

I also saw this pretty tunic. I go back and forth on buying clothes from Target (most of them don’t fit me anyways), but they usually have pretty cute summer items. I think I usually prefer Target clothes in the summer because there are so many more cotton/natural fiber options. What do y’all think about clothes from Target?

Both of these dresses are super cute and 100% cotton!

There are also several cute fashion jewelry items.

(Saw this necklace on Sweet Southern Prep's post today and immediately headed to target.com to check it out!)
What are your favorite finds at Target?

On My Mind Monday: Running, Med School, and Preppy Fashion

Monday, April 26, 2010

I'm still feeling yucky and haven’t been able to get out for a run in days! So frustrating! Especially since I am still pretty new to running...I’m afraid if I stop for too long it will be like starting from the beginning all over again! I can’t believe how much I've missed it in the past few days and how badly I want to go for a run! I just keep telling myself it wouldn’t be a good run and I would just end up frustrated anyways! How long of a running/working out break do you take when you haven't been feeling 100%?

Today was my husband’s first day of ‘transition week’ before beginning his first rotation (Pediatrics) next Monday! I can’t believe he’s already starting his third year...I’m so excited for him!

(from hubby's white coat ceremony right before starting med school)

It's been sort of a dreary Monday here in Virginia and I was in serious need of a midday pick me up...so I headed over to the Lilly store during lunch. Bright, preppy fashion always cheers me up! I am in love with the Queen of Green print...and since the only thing they had in it so far was the shorts, I tried those on. So adorable...but I just don’t know where I would wear shorts that short (I realize that calling a 3 inch inseam short might make me sound a touch prudish), but I guess I just don't really wear shorts very often. I am obsessing over the dress featured in the newest issue of InStyle!

(I kind of already staked a claim on the 0 at our local store!)

How fabulous is the Queen of Green print in a tote...especially because it has a pink background! Although I am partial to giant-sized bags (and was tempted to get the large tote and carry it as a purse) I realized that was slightly crazy so I'm thinking if I were to buy this it would have to be in the smaller size.

What do y’all think of the Queen of Green print?

On the topic of delightful clothing...have y’all checked out J. McLaughlin recently? I’m loving the Rona Tunic in this fabulous lime/aqua paisley print and the Isabella Skirt!

Lovely piping detail around the pockets and waistband.

What cheers you up on a dreary day?

Fashion Friday: Fabulously Stylish Deals

Friday, April 23, 2010

I've been in such a deal shopping mood this week! Look at the fabulous deals featured in the newest issue of People StyleWatch!

20% off full-price items at lillypulitzer.com (enter coupon code PEOPLE at checkout) and Lilly Pulitzer stores! Are you serious?! With all the fabulous new summer items that just came out...I will definitely be using this one!!

20% off full-price items at Ann Taylor LOFT stores by bringing in the magazine or mentioning the article. I must admit I have not been as in love with LOFT lately as I used to be, but they do carry a 00p in their petite section and they have several fun new items out for spring.

I just purchased this lovely pink cardigan earlier this week.

On Tuesday I bought this super cute Charlotte Tarantola cardigan at Anthropologie for $30...marked down from $130! (I feel like I have to share this with all of my blog friends because hubs just wasn't as excited as I thought he should have been about my purchase! His response..."don't you already have like 40 cardigans?")

Miss Trish of Capri is back at Target! Our store was out of my size in the super cute pink and green sandals, but I immediately ordered them online. Can't wait for them to arrive!
Since I'm still feeling yucky and can't get out for a run I've been shopping for cute running clothes instead! I did get a chance to try out my new Nike running skirt this week (and LOVED it!) so I was super excited when I won a new Brooks running skirt on ebay! Is anyone else obsessed with ebay?

I am in love with this pink leather bracelet from Fossil! It's fantastically pink, yet a little bit BA...love it! (Not sure if this is technically a fashion deal, but I just found it and had to share!)

What fabulous fashion deals are you loving right now?

Pink and Green Thursday

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Happy Earth Day and Pink and Green Thursday! I've been feeling a little under the weather lately (AKA allergies have made me super sick!), so last night the husband surprised me with pretty pink and green flowers to cheer me up!

Hubs and I are counting down the days (ok we still have like two months) until we move! We are currently in a one bedroom apartment (that doesn't have enough closet space for my shoes, much less all my clothes) and we're moving to a three bedroom townhouse! I cannot wait!! We're going to make one of the extra bedrooms into hubby's office and the other will be my art/crafting/sewing room (and I suppose occasionally a guest room). I'm so excited to decorate it...and I'm definitely thinking it needs to be pink and green (since I can't really get away with decorating any other room in pink). Here are some fabulous pink and green rooms I've found online.

Handwriting Fun!

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

I found this fun handwriting quiz on Short Southern Momma's blog and had to play along! I love seeing other people's handwriting (is that weird?) and I think it's a shame that many people no longer consider having nice penmanship to be important. Odd side note...I always wanted to be left-handed! I have no idea why, but it just seemed so much cooler than being right-handed!

1. How would you say your letters slope?
Forward - indicates that you are reticent and self-controlled.

2. Are the letters in your words
Fully connected - indicates that you are a social person who likes to talk and meet others.
(Not sure about this one...I am actually pretty introverted!)

3. Between words, do you leave
Narrow spaces(?) - indicates that you are a talkative person, maybe even a busybody!
(Not sure about this one either...I'm pretty quiet until I get to know someone well)

4. How close together are your lines of writing?
Close enough so that the descendants touch the ascendants - indicates that you like to be organized.

5. What color ink did you choose?
Blue black - indicates that you are rational and conservative. You adhere to conventions and traditions.

6. How large was your capital I in the sample?
The same as the other letters...it didn't give me this answer option so I don't know what this one says about me!

7. What do your t bars look like? (The crossbars on your letter t)
Cross the 't' more or less in the middle - indicates that you are not very original but quite responsible. (Haha I kind of feel like I've been insulted!)

8. Does your writing slope
Oops I broke the rules and wrote on lined paper...so I don't know the answer to this one!

9. Which takes the most space vertically in a line of your writing?
The descenders - indicates that you have a tendency to be bossy.

10. How much pressure does your writing show?
Firm and even - indicates that you are a person of strong but rigid will, obstinate but powerful.

Y'all should play along! What does your handwriting say about you?

My First 5K!

Monday, April 19, 2010

I ran my first 5K this weekend and had so much fun! I ran it in 31 minutes...I think I could have done it a little faster, but I was afraid of starting out too fast and getting worn out, so I went slow in the beginning. My goals for this race were (1) to finish without stopping to walk and (2) not to feel like I was going to die when I finished! I ran the entire time and I felt great when I finished...so I'm thinking it was definitely a success! Even better, hubby said watching me run inspired him to start running too! I think I'm going to even be able to get him out for a run after work today! I can't wait to find my next race to run! So far I've looked on active.com, but I don't really know where else to look for upcoming races. Where do you find out about races in your area?

After the race (and a shower) we drove to Short Pump (an outside mall about an hour away from where we live) to do a little shopping. It was such a gorgeous day! Hubby and I ended up going on a bit of a shopping spree and got tons of great things! One of my favorite purchases is this pair of turquoise heels from Nordstrom. I have no idea what I'm going to wear them with, but they were just so delightfully bright I had to buy them!

I also bought this super cute Nike running skirt.

I wasn't sure about these at first, but I saw several women running in them this weekend so I thought I'd give it a try! As if I needed another reason to shop, I am now in love with finding cute running clothes! Last night I ordered a turquoise half-zip on sale from lucy.com.

(This isn't the exact one I ordered, but it's the same color)

I'm having a difficult time finding running tops that I like! I want something fitted (but not super tight) with short sleeves.

Maybe it's just the time of year, but I feel like everything I'm seeing is sleeveless. I'm sure y'all have noticed by now that my skin in white as a ghost so I definitely need my shoulders covered if I'm outside! Honestly I'd rather wear long sleeves to hide from the sun, but I think I might overheat! What type of running/workout tops do you like? Where do y'all find activewear?

Fashion Friday: Pink and Green Spring

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Happy Friday! Fabulous Trish from Pink Preppy Lilly Lover has started Pink and Green Thursdays (which I totally wanted to play along with yesterday, but didn't have time), so I decided today's Fashion Friday post would be pink and green! Pink and green are my absolute favorite colors to wear, especially in the spring. They're just so bright and cheerful and always make me happy! Here are some of the lovely pink and green items I'm currently obsessing over!

J. McLaughlin Harbor Dress

Boden Bow Cardigan

Boden Printed Cotton Top

johnnie b (from Boden) Bandeau Bikini - I'm really looking for a vintage-y one piece right now, but this bikini is adorable.

johnnie b (from Boden) Stripe Woven Skirt - looks a little short (since it's supposed to be for teens), but it's just so cute!

Sketched Danios Dress from Anthropologie

Corset-Cinched One-Piece from Anthropologie

Lilly Pulitzer Del Mar Dress Solid - I have this dress in the Aquamarine Seeing Things print and love it!

Lilly Pulitzer Large Golden Basket

Lilly Pulitzer Petra Dress - What do y'all think of maxi dresses? Last year I was very anti-maxi dresses (on myself) because I thought I was too short for them (I'm 5'3"...okay probably more like 5'2" but I round up), but recently for some reason I'm thinking maybe it wouldn't look so bad! I can't decide! Opinions? What do y'all think about maxi dresses on shorter girls?

What are your favorite pink and green items out right now?
