Thursday Eye Candy

This has been the first week back to regular 8-5 hours at work (instead of 9-4 summer hours) and needless to say it is dragging! To get through the day I've needed lots of mini fall fashion eye candy breaks! Fall is by far my favorite season and I am obsessed with fall fashion.

White Party!

Today I'm playing along with Desperately Seeking Seersucker's White Party!  The inspiration comes from a party she hosts on Labor Day weekend...your last chance to wear your summer whites.  What a fabulous idea!  Hubs and I are flying to Florida for a wedding over labor day weekend.  So since I certainly won't be wearing white that weekend, I'll have to give my whites their last hoorah a little early this year!

Fashion Friday: Gameday Couture + Some Lilly Love

Happy Friday! As usual I am delighted to be three hours away from the weekend, but I'm even more excited today because hubs is finishing up his ob/gyn rotation (aka he has the WHOLE weekend off)! Yesterday we received our tickets for the FSU/UVA football game in October and it got me thinking about what to wear to the game. I can't wait to cheer on the Noles from Virginia! I found two sites with adorable game day dresses: Natalie Kim and Haute Fan Couture. Have y'all ever heard of either of these?

Since Nicholas was home studying yesterday (and I didn't need to go home during lunch to take care of Mason) I decided it had been way too long since I had visited our Lilly via store, The Pink Palm!  

I've been in love with these shorts since they came out, but since I hardly ever wear shorts I just couldn't bring myself to pay full price for them.  Lucky me, I found them on sale yesterday!

I also fell in love with the Brinkley Shirtdress in the Bright Navy it's a Lilly print.  They didn't have my size, but they're ordering it for me!  It's such a perfect fall dress...I can't wait for it to arrive!

Wishlist Wednesday: Cupcakes + Fall Fashion!

Ok, this first one isn't really a 'wishlist' item (because I am definitely going to purchase it), but I am obsessed with it! It bakes up seven little cupcakes in just five minutes. Which to me totally seems like a grown up version of an easy bake oven, only it doesn't rely on a lightbulb to cook! (Yes, I realize my actual oven should be my 'grown up' easy bake, but this is just much more fun!)

I am so ready for fall weather I can't stand it!  I'm counting down the days until I can start wearing boots and sweaters again...and I've absolutely fallen in love with these Frye boots!

What's on your wishlist?

Back In Action!

I can't believe it's been nearly a week and a half since my last post! I've had so much going on, but every time I sit down to write a post I can't decide what to put down! Since I can't seem to pull it together to actually 'write' a post, here's a little catch up list of what's been going on with me!

{one}  Last week was somewhat of a rough week. I was feeling a little blue (not really sure why), but it resulted in hubs and I making a late night (ok, 9pm) trip to the grocery store last Wednesday for a bottle of champagne and some red velvet cake. Not many things cheer me up like celebrating absolutely nothing with Nicholas in the middle of the week!

{two}  I finally made curtains for our living room! This might not seem like a huge accomplishment, but our curtain-less window has been driving me crazy since we moved in and it's finally covered!

Still not incredibly glamorous...we're getting closer!  Now I just need to find (or maybe make?) some curtain tie-backs that I like...any suggestions?

I'm so excited the living room is actually starting to feel put together. Look at what used to be our big, blank, blue wall...it's no longer blank! I'm not sure if I'm completely sold on the milk glass and flowers on the shelf, but it works for now!

{three}  Remember my post from at least a month ago where I wanted to start gardening and I bought a tomato plant? I had such great intentions for actually putting it in the ground, but then hubs and I brought home Mason and I got a little sidetracked. Well, I happened upon my tomato plant sitting (fallen over) in the back yard this weekend and there was a little green tomato growing! I was so shocked that it was not only still alive, but there was actually a tomato growing that I immediately planted it in the little garden area in front of our house!

{four}  Hubs is finishing up his third rotation of third year this week! Unfortunately, he's finishing it up with night shifts (aka he works from 5pm to 6am). I miss him like crazy...and his next rotation is surgery so I'm not sure how much better that is going to be!  I can't believe he's starting his fourth rotation next week...third year is flying by!

Opinions, Please + Pink and Green Thursday

How do you keep up with all your favorite blogs? Do y'all use blogger dashboard or google reader (or something else even better that I don't know about)?  I've been using blogger dashboard and since I've been so busy lately (and I don't have time to sign in as often as I would like) I feel like I'm missing out on posts from all my favorite blogs. What do you do? I could seriously use some advice!

I love etsy, but sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed by all the options and wish I knew which stores to check out!  Does you have any favorite etsy stores?

An OCD Love Affair: Geometric Patterns and Recipe Organization

Hubs and I had such a wonderfully relaxing weekend and got tons done around our home.  I can't believe we've been living here for a month and a half and still haven't completely moved in.  We are making serious progress though since we got rid of our last box on Saturday and we finally took our ketubah to get framed (only 7 months after the wedding...)!

Our blue living room walls, while awesome, were looking a little blank so I decided to make some art.  Since the canvases I painted for our old apartment don't go with any of the decor in our new home I decided to take the canvas off and recover the frame.  That may not be a big deal, but I was pretty impressed with myself.  (I have recently discovered just how useful a staple gun can be!)  I've been head over heels for geometric prints lately so before I started I searched around online for a little inspiration.

With a little inspiration, here's what I came up with.  I'm thinking I'll talk hubs into hanging them tonight!

Also over the weekend I decided I was once and for all going to find a way to organize all the recipes I find online.  I've tried so many different ways, but nothing seems to really work well.  For awhile I was getting daily recipe emails from Cooking Light and Martha Stewart, but I am incredibly picky so most of them I will never make and they just end up clogging my inbox.  I've also tried copying them into word documents, but then trying to find one (when I don't have something specific in mind) takes forever.

I looked around online for some suggestions and finally came up with an idea...a recipe blog!

I've created a new blog {here} and when I find a recipe I want to keep I'll just post it there and tag several of the main ingredients/recipe type.  That way, when I really need to find a recipe, I can click on one of my tags and all those recipes will come up!  I've already posted a few that I know I like and several that look good.  So far I'm thinking this might actually be the solution to my online recipe dilemma.  I would love to hear suggestions though...What do y'all do with online recipes?  How do you keep them organized?
